HISTORY OF THE RICHTERKELLER

SOON IN ENGLISH

Das Areal um den Richterkeller wurde bereits 1470 als "Richterbrunnen am Bach"
erwähnt. Die Flurbezeichnung "em Richter" ist wahrscheinlich noch um einiges älter.

Wo der Name seinen eigentlichen Ursprung hat, ist nicht mehr mit Bestimmheit
festzustellen, jedoch könnte er sich vom mittelalterlichen Richtplatz ableiten.

Aus den ehemaligen Bierkellern der Brauerei Widmaier 1844 bis 1912
unter den Gebäuden Richterstrasse 14 und 16 entstanden unter erheblichem
Sanierungsaufwand die Veranstaltungsräume Richterkeller. 1928 bis 1981
wurden Teile des Gebäudekomplexes Richterstrasse und Sigmaringer Strasse
zur Sauerkrautkonservenfabrikation genutzt.
